Guardiola not expecting a busy summer for Man City

Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester City’s Champions League ban will obstruct his transfer plans for the next season.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola feels that come summer, the club will start to experience the ill effects of being forbidden to play in Europe.
Ever since signing as the head coach of Man City back in 2016, Guardiola has never been shy of spending. During his first season alone, the Spaniard made 13 signings.
But City were recently hit with a Champions League ban for two seasons by UEFA after being allegedly found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
And Pep Guardiola fears the Premier League champions might not be able to go on a similar spending spree the next season.
“I don’t think so,” Guardiola replied to Sky Sports when asked if Man City will be as busy in the summer as his first one.
“I don’t think so because today it is so difficult to change the players because they are so expensive and it is not easy. The club must [also] be sustainable. I understand completely and in the situation that we are in we have to wait [not] anticipate. Our idea right now with the situation with Financial Fair Play [is] when we are going to appeal.
“Right now we have to wait. So we are going to play these three months and when the season finishes we will see what the situation is.”
