Rumor – Real Madrid will not offer Ramos a contract extension

There are rumors coming out of Spain that Real Madrid is not going to offer legendary center-back Sergio Ramos a new contract.

Ramos is arguably one of the best center-backs in football over the past ten years. He has been a linchpin for Real Madrid and their dominance of European football.
However, the Spanish World Cup winner is now 33 year-of age and his current deal runs until 2021.
Los Blancos must take all that into consideration plus the fact he is demanding a new two-year deal.
Real’s policy is that any player over 30 can only be granted a one-year extension.
According to AS, Florentino Perez and Real Madrid are having second thoughts about keeping him beyond his current deal.
They may opt to bring in a more youthful partner for 25-year-old Raphael Varane. They would then utilize Ramos’ last 18 months to get the new center-back up to speed.
Sergio Ramos: “There is no Ramos case. I'm contracted to Real Madrid and I have one and a half years left on my contract. If Real Madrid want to sort it out, in five minutes it can be done."
