Inaki Williams: I’ll walk off the pitch if I’m racially abused again

Inaki Williams has revealed his teammates will join him in walking off the pitch if he is subject to racial abuse again.
Williams was subject to racism from the stands during a game against Espanyol in January.
The Athletic Club star was initially praised for his response to that but is now hoping the incident doesn’t happen again.
Williams received support from Tenerife fans when Athletic Club played them in the Copa Del Rey and has seen a number of names back him for remaining strong as well.
However, the 25-year-old is now saying he could walk off the pitch if it happens again..with his teammates already agreeing to join him in doing so.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again but, if it does, I’m going to have the support of lots of people, like what happened in Tenerife,” Williams told Universo Valdano h/t by Marca.
“I was sent thousands of messages on social media.
“I know that my teammates would’ve walked off the pitch with me. We’ve spoken about it.
“We’re aware that if it happens to me again, we’d walk off the pitch and if they give us a loss for the game, we wouldn’t care.”
Athletic Bilbao face Granada in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday and Williams is hopeful his side can finish off on their 1-0 win from the first leg.
